Piece of my Heart

Blue Heart installation is located in city Delft. The beautiful heart cut in sapphire (fake) stone symbolically represents the Blue Pottery of Delft.

Thank you Anna Psy for making those 3d paper blue hearts! The night before the workshop we stayed until 2 am to cutting them out and glueing, dyeing Anna's hair blue and doing test hair styles for the model. And up at 6 am! That's how things are done:) The weather wasn't on our side that day. It was so windy that it blew paper hearts away. I even didn't photoshop flying hair and skirt. But we came with a solution! We used sewing pins to pin hearts to the ground. Always a good idea to bring different essentials to the photoshoot like pins, scissors, thread, rope, glue, tape etc.

Инсталляция Голубое Сердце находится в городке Делфт и символизирует национальную голубую роспись.

Спасибо Ане @annapsyartist за эти 3д бумажные сердца! На кануне МК мы сидели до 2х ночи, вырезали и клеили это все, красили волосы Ани в синий и пробовали прически для модели. И потом подъем в 6! Вот так и живем:) Погода была не на нашей стороне в тот день. Было так ветренно, что сдувало сердечки. Я даже не фотошопила платье и волосы. Но мы нашли выход! Мы прикололи сердца к земле булавками:) Всегда на съемку берите всякие нужные мелочи: булавки, иголки, нитки, ножницы, веревки, скотч и тд.

The day began nicely, it was cloudy and windy, but we were able to shoot the idea with blue heart in Delft. But then it started raining cats and dogs and didn't stop:( We had an option to go to the studio, where we eventually shot 3 idea. But I'm not a fan of shooting in the studio plus I wanted to use smoke bombs. So I said let's shoot outside under the rain 💪🏻 12 people stood under the trees and umbrellas dressed in rain coats and unhesitatingly and stoutly shot Jenna who was getting wet 💪🏻 Thanks everyone who helped and stayed, thanks Anna Psy for being our fireworker😁 I had to wiz and cast spells in Photoshop to make this photo work but I like the result.

Фото сделано в рамках моего МК в Нидерландах. Команда см выше 👆🏻 День начинался неплохо, было пасмурно и ветренно, но мы успели отснять идею с сердцем в Делфте. Но потом начался дождь, не прекращаясь лил как из ведра:( У нас был вариант поехать в студию, где мы потом таки сделали 3 идею. Но я вообще не люблю снимать в студиях и для этого образа хотела зажечь дымовую шашку. И я сказала снимаем под дождем! Стоя под деревьями, зонтиками, одетые в дождевики, 12 человек упорно и уверенно снимали Дженну, пока та мокла под дождем 💪🏻 Мне пришлось долго колдовать потом в фотошопе, чтобы сделать что-то достойное, но результатом я довольна.

This was the third and the last idea from the workshop. We were supposed to shoot it outside but it started raining and we couldn't risk the bird wellness. So we had nothing to do but go to the studio. Thank you cafeobscura for providing the space and giving us a shelter:) Also amazing Anna Psy who was bravely bearing with all the bird's tortures:)) No animal was harmed during the shoot!:)

Lost in translation

How did I learn English? Well, it didn't happen overnight, there were many years of studying with a private tutor. I started when I was only 6 years old. But learning it at home with books is nothing compared to communicating in English speaking environment. When you go abroad and talk to a native speaker you start to have a psychological barrier and it's very hard to speak even if you understand everything. It's normal, everyone's been there. The first time I came to the US in 2008 improved my English a lot. I'm still learning. I still struggle sometimes with the language barrier. Watching tv shows and movies without translation and listening to podcasts helped a lot. And talking of course. And you don't have to have the big vocabulary or learn perfect grammar to be fluent. Just memorize sentence structure and phrases.

But in total, I speak 3 languages: Russian, Ukrainian, and English. I tried to study French a while ago after listening for too much French rap and core😅 but after only a year or two, I dropped it. Decided to concentrate on English only. Russian and Ukrainian are very similar and both are spoken in Ukraine. Ukrainian language is an official language in Ukraine and very special to me. Although I almost never use it in my everyday life I can understand and speak it. In times when I feel homesick I turn on some Ukrainian music and think about what my life would be if I never moved to the US...

Как я выучила английский? Это не произошло за ночь, это долгие годы обучения с частным репетитором, начиная еще с дошкольного возраста. Я начала учить английский, когда мне было 6. Но учить дома по учебникам ничто по сравнению с общением в англоговорящей среде. Когда приезжаешь заграницу не имея опыта общения с носителем, ты испытываешь целый психологический барьер и по началу говорить очень тяжело, даже если ты все понимаешь. Это нормально, это продходят почти все. Впервые, когда я приехала в США в 2008 сильно улучшило мой язык. Я до сих пор учусь. Мне до сих пор иногда тяжело. Мне очень помогли любимые сериалы и фильмы без перевода. А также подкасты и интервью. Что-то, где люди говорят на обычном разговорном языке. И конечно же общение. И не обязательно иметь большой словарный запас, чтобы свободно разговаривать. Английский в этом плане довольно простой. Грамматику заучивать тоже не обязательно, тут все делают ошибки и пренебрегают правилами. Главное запоминать структуру предложения, выражения и обороты.

Но в целом я знаю 3 языка: русский, украинский и английский. Когда-то давно пыталась выучить французский, наслушавшись французского репа и кора😅, но бросила после года или двух. Решила сконцентрироваться на английском. И хотя украинский я почти никогда не использую в повседневной жизни, я могу понимать и говорить, если надо. Этот язык очень особенный для меня. Когда тоскую по дому, включаю Океан Ельзи и думаю о том, какая была моя жизнь, если бы я никогда не переехала в США...

Blooming

The other day I was listening to my favorite teenage music. Funny how everything changes as we grow up. If you think about it now I have the best time of my life: I'm independent, I do what I love and have some success in it, I live in one of the biggest cities in the world, I have an opportunity to travel and buy nice things. I had none of that when I was a teenager and in my early 20s. No money, no achievements, I wanted to escape, to run away... But you still think of that time with sadness and nostalgia. Because you had something you don't anymore. Carelessness and feeling that the best is yet to come, that you have your whole life and world ahead of you. I'm not saying my life is over and I don't look into the future but it's a very different feeling. I guess we just stopped dreaming...

На днях возвращала свой 2007ой и слушала любимую музыку подростковых лет. Забавно, как с возрастом все меняется. Если так подумать, то сейчас у меня самый лучший период жизни: я независимая, у меня есть любимое дело, в котором есть какие-то успехи, я живу в одном из самых крупных городов мира и у меня есть возможность путешествовать, покупать хорошие вещи. В подростковые годы и начало 20 ничего этого не было, не было денег, не было достижений, хотелось вырваться, убежать... Но почему-то ты все равно с грустью и ностальгией вспоминаешь это время. Ведь было что-то такое, чего нет сейчас. Беззаботность и чувство, что все самое хорошее, вся жизнь и весь мир у тебя впереди. Не говорю, что жизнь закончилось и я не смотрю в будущее, но ощущения совсем другие. Наверное, мы перестали мечтать...

Spring has come

New York is blooming and exploring it in the most gorgeous dress from Asian brand Metisu was the perfect way to welcome this beautiful spring season. Love the lace detail with little black beads on it. Perfect with a pair of sheer polka dot socks.Nice velvet fabric and lace-up sleeves detail. It would be great for fall too! Little black dress is never out of style and goes with everything anywhere.

Spring is such a beautiful season but often we get just a glimpse of it. Suddenly it became all green and so hot almost like a summertime. Last week it was up to +32°C 😐😐😕 But thankfully it got cooler and we can enjoy comfortable temperatures and spring for a little longer. 🌸🌸🌸

A month ago I turned 30. I handled this number better than I thought. I was kidding around and asked what I need to do before I turn 30 and some people actually believed it and started to give me recommendations with all the seriousness. Of course I'm scared of aging but in fact, I try not to limit myself with age. There's absolutely nothing you can't do at any age except when it's restricted by health or law. If you're 50 it doesn't mean you can't go to a concert, dye your hair pink or go on a backpacking trip. Nothing's impossible. All the limits are only in our heads. And our age is just a number.

Месяц назад мне исполнилось 30. Я справилась с этой датой лучше, чем я думала. Я пошутила и спросила, что делать и что надо успеть до 30 лет и некоторые люди восприняли это всерьез и начали мне давать советы:) Конечно, возраст и старение меня пугают, но на самом деле я стараюсь не ограничивать себя возрастными рамками. Нет абсолютно ни одной вещи, которую ты не можешь сделать в каком либо возрасте, только если это не ограничивается законом или здоровьем. Если тебе 50 это совершенно не значит, что ты не можешь пойти на концерт, покрасить волосы в розовый или поехать в путешествие с рюкзаком. Нет ничего невозможного. Все рамки лишь у нас в голове. А возраст это только цифра.

Eurotrip 2017. Part 3. Amsterdam

From tiny town next to Hauge it takes about an hour to get to Amsterdam according to Google. But it took me 3😕 I was tired and exhausted, it was my last destination. I arrived to my Airbnb and I had half of day to walk around. Next morning I had my flight to Kiev. I was travelling by myself in Europe and I walked about 4 hours across the city and died in some restaurant😁 Well was pretty enough to see what's Amsterdam. It's a small cute city but pretty monotonous. I liked Paris more.

Из городка под Гаагой ехать в Амстердам по гуглу было около часа, но у меня почему-то это заняло 3😕 Уставшая и замученная, это была моя последняя точка. Я приехала в свой Airbnb и у меня было полдня, чтобы погулять. На след утро вылет в Киев. В Европе я была одна и в итоге я 4 часа погуляла по городу и залягла в каком-то ресторане. Впринципе этого времени вполне хватило, чтобы понять, что такое Амстердам😁 Это маленький милый город, но довольно однообразный. Париж больше понравился.

To see Paris for the first time and stay impressed for the rest of your life. Ok I know it's super cheesy to say so but it's totally worth seeing:) What is your dream city?
